I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking the kids to scout camp. I want there to be a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.

Crazy Brennen

Here are some pictures of the crazy antics of our little guy!

In March we went to Disney on Ice. This kid has Mickey Mouse Mania, so he was so excited to see this!

His babysitter went to Disney Land in Febuary and brought him back some Mickey Mouse Ears. He LOVES them! This is him not even wanting to take them off for bedtime!

One night he put my pot holders on his feet and told me they were his slippers.

He went with me when I took my preschool to the fire station and had a ball. Every time we drive by he lets me know, "Mama, there's the fire station!" He thought he was pretty cool wearing the helmet!

May Happenings

So May has been a CRAZY month in Guymon land. We have so much going on along with adjusting to Bruce as the bishop. But it has been all good and we made it through the month.

First, Kaden earned his wolf badge. He has worked so hard and he has really loved scouts. I have really enjoyed being his scout leader and getting to have that special time with him.

Pack Meeting was also Space Derby, so that was a lot of fun. It was the first time our Pack has ever done SPace Derby, and hopefully it won't be the last. Kaden's rocket is the one that is in the lead.

Kaden had his last Musical Mustangs program. The program was called "We're Nuts" and Kaden played a walnut/walnut tree. It was a cute program about where trees come from and how they grow.

Aubree had her ballet recital. They did a story called Pezzitino. It was a beautiful program. Aubree was one of the swimming ones, and also one of the flying ones. She looks so beautiful when she dances, I always get a little chocked up. She has a wonderful ballet teacher who we just adore! I am so glad we found her, because Aubree's favorite thing in the world now is ballet. She hopes to eventually dance on pointe.

Kaden played spring soccer this year instead of baseball. It was a lot more fun for him I think. He is not a naturally competitive person, and baseball has gotten to intense for him. Soccer has been a lot more fun, and he has really learned a lot the past few years and has improved so much!

Tyson plays Tball and he loves it so much. He has some fun coaches this year. He is one of the bigger kids on the team and loves that he gets to play 1st base a lot. He is great at throwing and catching, and his hitting is getting a lot better.

Cambree and Brennen have just been along for the ride. They have made it through so many programs and ball games, most of them without dad. I am so grateful that they are such good kids and put up with it all.

Kaden's Birthday

Kaden turned 9 on May 15. Where oh where does the time go? The best part of his birthday was Father's and Sons campout. It is pretty cool to go camping with your dad for your birthday! He also had a soccer game when he got home, thus the outfit. He saw this scientist cake in a magazine and decided that it is what he wanted for his cake. It is supposed to be a science flask. We got him a pocket knife for his birthday and 20 minutes later he sliced his thumb. Guess it is time for pocket knife safety.

We had a science party for his birthday a week later because of father's and sons. I have to say this was one of the funnest parties I have ever done! 8 and 9 year old boys doing cool science experiments. It does not get any better. This is the cornstarch slime we made. They had so much fun squshing it.
We also launched Alka Seltzer Rockets, which they got a kick out of.

We grilled some burgers for dinner, then for a grand finale, did some coke and mentos.

Here is his cake at the party. On his birthday, we just stuck some cotton candy in the top to look like smoke, but for the party I got the brilliant idea to frost some PVC pipe and then we put dry ice and water into it to make it really smoke. It was a big hit!
All in all it was a fun day, even though it is hard to see my kids get older. Happy Birthday Kaden! We sure do love you!

Brennen Update

So as some of you know, Brennen has been having some problems with his ears lately. I took him in to the specialist on Monday and this is what is going on. He had tubes put in almost 2 years ago. The Dr said they would fall out on their own in 1-3 years. Well, the left tube dislodged, but didn't fall out, so all of the fluid in his ears built up and built up until it basically exploded and burst his eardrum. The eardrum looks like it is healing itself, but we have to go back in 6 weeks to check. The right tube hasn't come out yet, so the Dr wants to go in and surgically remove it so the same thing doesn't happen again. Then if the left eardrum hasn't healed, they will repair that at the same time. Good news is his hearing is just fine, which is a huge relief. Please keep our little boy in your prayers at this time so hopefully the eardrum will heal itself and won't need surgically repaired.

I just threw this cute picture in of Brennen "helping" make Bruce's birthday cake.

Easter 2010

Our Easter is pretty much the same thing every year. We always go to grandma Debbie and Grandpa Rick's in Orangeville. I hope they don't get sick of us, because according to my kids, it wouldn't be Easter anywhere but there. Friday night we color our Easter eggs.

In honor of General Conference, Kaden made a Thomas S Monson egg.

Tyson's agent egg. He was crying because I took a picture of Kaden, but as soon as I turned the camera on him, he smiled. I just thought this was a cute picture.

The Easter bunny came Friday night and hid all the candy. I think this is Tyson's favorite part, seeing all the crazy places the Easter bunny hides the candy every year.

What a great mom! This is the only picture I took of Cambree at Easter.

MY favorite tradition is taking our eggs out to the desert and rolling them down the hill. I thought that is what everyone did, until I met my husband and he informed me that this is weird. Well, weird or not, it is a blast! Brennen had a grand old time "hatching" his eggs.

After we were done with the egg rolling, Aubree climbed clear to the top of the hill. I was so proud of her, because it was a scary thing for her to do, and she conquered her fears!

Cambree's New Portraits

So here are Cambree's new pictures. I know that there are a lot, but this baby is just so gosh darn cute!
