I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking the kids to scout camp. I want there to be a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.

1st Day of School

5th Grade fashionista. We had to do a full body shot to get the shoes in. Her teacher is Miss Angus, who is a brand new teacher from Michigan.

4th grade and too cool for school. He wouldn't even let me walk him to his class. His teacher is Mrs Romero.

1st grade and ready for lunch. The whole first week of school when his dad would ask what was the best part of the day, he would say "Lunch!" His teacher is Miss Eberhard.

He's waited his whole life for preschool. I have taught preschool since before he was born so he is way excited for his turn. Miss Amy is his teacher; )

Lola's Place

My Grandpa Sitterud owns some property at Upper Joes Valley that he calls Lola's Place and every summer my brothers and sisters and I try to get our families together and go camping. This year most of us didn't camp, but we all made it up for the day on Sat for a fun little reunion and get together. I didn't take too many pictures, but we had fun riding 4 wheelers (Bruce even got me to drive one) having a delicious meal and just catching up.
It is always fun for all the cousins to get together. It is not fun trying to get them all to look at the camera.

There are 10 grandkids on the Larsen side and 5 of them belong to me!
We also had a little party for Cambree since this was 2 days after her birthday. I made a cake and brought it up and Grandma Debbie had a present for her to open. It is a new baby doll and she loves it to pieces.

I love my family and am grateful we were able to have a fun day together. Sorry that Merrill and Jason ha to miss it, but we still love them anyways.

Cambree' s 1st Birthday

Holy Cow! My baby is one! I'm sitting here wondering where the last year has gone!
Cambree in her birthday dress. I love this picture, and I have one of me at the same age that looks almost exactly like this one!

Opening her presents. The kids didn't mind that she needed a lot of help.

Her teddy bear cake.

We had a heck of a time getting a picture of her with her cake because she kept snitching the frosting!

Nice frosting mustache!

Eating her cake. A little tentative at first.

Warming up to the idea.

Finally getting the hang of it at the end!

Happy Birthday to my Cambree Doodle. We love you so much, and can't imagine our family without you! You light up a room with your smile and the kids love having a baby sister!

Larsen Reunion

The second weekend in Aug brings the Delyle Larsen family reunion. This year Grandpa turned 85! I love him and my Grandma so much, and am so glad at the role they have played in my life.
It is always a fun time to catch up with aunts, uncles, and cousins and see how much everyone's kids have grown. The kids have a great time playing games too.
Cambree and mom hanging out and visiting.

Brennen playing the doughnut game. He kept forgetting he wasn't supposed to use his hands.

Tyson eagerly awaiting the water balloons.

Ice blocking. Kaden waits all year for the Larsen reunion so he can go ice blocking!

Aubree's favorite game is now M&Ms and straws. They played it at activity days and she wasn't very good at it, so she came home and practiced and preacticed until she got really good at it. It was a good lesson for her too, that you don't have to be the best the first time you try, that practicing pays off.

Thanks Aunt Dana and Uncle Kerry and family for a fun day!

Yellowstone

We had so much fun on our big vacation to Yellowstone! There are a lot of pictures on thias post, but it was hard to decide which ones to put up.
The first day we did Old Faithful and the geyser basin. This is Bruce and the kids at Grotto Geyser.

We made Brennen walk a lot. He was pretty worn out. This picture is just too funny!

Watching Old Faithful. We actually saw it blow 3 times from 3 different angles. Pretty cool!

The second day we did the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. On the way there we stopped at the Mud Volcano area. This is the Dragon's Mouth. It was pretty cool. This was actually one of my favorite areas.

The family at Lower Falls. We hiked from Lower Falls to Upper Falls. It was a beautiful area.

This is after the hike. I told the kids to act like they were tired after hiking.

Day 3 was Tower Falls and Mammoth Hot Springs. This is us after hiking down to the base of Tower Falls.

Black Bear we Saw by the petrified tree. We also saw a Grizzley while driving through the Tetons, but of course, the camera batteries were dead.

Elk on the lawn at the visitors center at Mammoth Hot Springs. Brennen wanted to pet them.

The boys thought the idea of Mammoth Restrooms was pretty funny.

Traffic Jam at Yellowstone. The boys decided they wanted to be Buffalo Crossing Guards.

The boys in their coon skin caps.

Getting their Jr Ranger badges. They did a lot of work to earn them.

Our last day in Yellowstone at Fishing Bridge.

We stayed our last night in Jackson and went to the Bar J Ranch. Here is our wagon ride.

Bruce and Cambree enjoying the show.

Fackrell Reunion

We always have a good time at the Fackrell Family reunion in Mountain View. WY. We are grateful to Uncle Kenny and Aunt Bobbie for opening their home to all of us every year.
This year, Uncle Kenny took the kids out to ride the horses. This was such a treat for my kids!
Kaden not so sure at first, but soon got the hang of it!

Aubree was a natural! It made me wish she had the chance to ride more often.

Brennen was NOT a fan, and just got more and more mad.

He and another cousin decided to scoop poop instead.

Uncle Kenny and Aunt Nancy.

Tyson really tried to be brave.

Brennen would rather hang out with Uncle Darryl than play games.

Waiting for the games to begin! Aunt Laura did a great job and had some fun water games!
